File metadata

Date of ingest: 13 April 2023

Description: The Joseph Siroky Collection contains correspondence, materials and records from 1870-1965 pertaining primarily to the business records of Joseph Siroky, a dairy farmer who spent the majority of his life working and living in Minidoka County, Idaho. There is very little in the collection that provides any insight into his personal life. Siroky was a member of the Jerome Cooperative Creamery from 1930 through 1957; Series III includes records from the Creamery during this period. The Jerome Cooperative Creamery was established c. 1915 to address the needs of the community. Farm families depended on monthly income from small dairy herds in order to survive from crop to crop, and the cooperative allowed them to take part of their pay in products at cost.
