Description: The Early Pocatello Firefighters Photograph Collection consists of historic photographs taken from 1888 through 1957. The date range supplied in this finding aid applies to collection materials marked with dates. Undated photographs in the collection are simply marked “no date” in the finding aid, regardless of their actual date. S. R. Herridge (d.1967) was a Battalion Chief with the Pocatello Fire Department and acquiredthe photographs in this collection from older firefighters he worked with. He identified people, places, and even animal’s names and wrote those on the backs of most photographs, providing a wealth of historical information.
